Battling publisher THQ has appointed Ron Moravek as its new executive vice president of production.
Moravek will report to the publisher's president Jason Rubin, together establishing a new development leadership team that are expected to steer THQ away from a anxious period.
He joined Relic Entertainment in 1998 and worked with the firm for six years, before going on to serve as the second-in-command at EA's Canada studio. More recently he has worked in consultancy.
"Ron is an exceptional development executive with unique perspective on the industry from both a creative and business point of view," said Rubin.
"His entrepreneurial experience as well as his ability to drive dynamic teams is a great fit for our strategic objectives. Additionally, Ron's experience building high-quality products will help us continue to deliver great games and build upon our foundation to innovate digitally in the future."
Moravek added: "I look forward to building new games and experiences with Jason and the team at THQ."
Shareholder confidence in THQ has fallen sharply in the past year. The group has traded below the dollar mark for several months on the NASDAQ.
