First Wasteland 2 screenshot released

See how the Kickstarter funded project's taking shape

inXile has released the first in-game Wasteland 2 screenshot running in the Unity engine.

Interplay and inXile founder Brian Fargo said: "Releasing a screen shot this early in the process is a new concept for me as we typically want to hone in every element before we show it. But based on the requests and our desire for fan input, we are doing so to solicit feedback on the basic look.

"Please keep in mind that we have not put in the particle effects and post-processing which will have a dramatic effect on the scene, and this represents just one of the various environments for Wasteland 2 so expect to see other quite different locales."

inXile environment art director Koy Vanoteghem has also written a piece about the studio's design approach on the game's Kickstarter page.

Wasteland 2 will include the original Wasteland, a 1980s release that's widely credited with kick starting the post apocalyptic RPG genre.

That looks pretty cool!, like a new classic fallout :) thats pretty nuts showing something this early though, didn't this only get "kickstarted" a couple months ago?

Never played or even heard of the first for shame, I started with Fallout. But very interested in this, I've seen those vids for Van Buren, what Fallout 3 could've (should've?) been, and there's some similarity. So by the looks it's not going to be a 1st person shooter, sooooo glad about that.

I am willing to get this game IF it isn't Turn based and if it's a first Person game.

Then I guess you won't be purchasing it, since its the old turn based isometric style that Fallout 1 and 2 were.
    First person indeed.

This looks so awesome, I think a little early for screenshots though :/ So glad it's in the proper Isometric view. The First one was a blast, hopefully this will be better, especially how it's on the Unity engine, it will look so nice :)
